The word “umashi” means “content and comfortable.”Mie Prefecture has many landscapes that enrich the hearts of visitors and residents.
Mie is a long prefecture that stretches south to north. To the east, the plains curve along Ise Bay.

是神風伊勢国則常世之浪重浪帰国也、
傍国 可怜国 也。欲居是国。“The province of Ise, of the divine wind, is the land whither repair the waves from the eternal world, the successive waves.
It is a secluded and pleasant land. In this land I wish to dwell.” (This is the revelation that Yamatohime-no-mikoto, who had traveled to the land of Ise, received from Amaterasu-Omikami.)
